CHAIR OF COVID-19 COMMITTEE CALLS FOR ALL-ENCOMPASSING PRECAUTIONS

Kuwait City: Head of the advisory committee for the Ministry of Health dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic In light of the seasonal change, the return of travellers, the restart of public education, the parliamentary rallies, and other factors, Dr. Khaled Al-Jarallah emphasised the need to strengthen general preventive guidelines and urge people to get seasonal flu vaccinations. Dr. Al-Jarallah recently reaffirmed the significance of education officials' roles in promoting the culture of public health and immunising children in educational curricula in a post on his Twitter account. 


He also stated that it is "often misleading" to market an extensive laboratory test without a clinical evaluation. Additionally, according to health sources, the Ministry of Health has received regulatory authority approval to extend the tender contract for operating, maintaining, and repairing engineering services at Sabah Hospital, Maternity Hospital, Chest Diseases Hospital, Natural Medicine Hospital, Infectious Diseases Hospital, Psychiatry Hospital, Addiction Treatment Center, National Bank of Kuwait Hospital for Children, and ENT Hospital, as well as at some other health centres. 

They clarified that the extension would last for three months, from July 16 to October 15, or until the end of the period needed to prepare for holding the new tender. The extension will cost approximately KD 563,000. Additionally, the ministry has received approval to extend the Shuaiba incinerator operation, maintenance, and management contract for a further six months, from October 1 to March 31, 2023, at a projected cost of KD 83,000.
