20 PROFFESIONS ON NEW WORK VISA TO KUWAIT FACE SKILL TEST

Kuwait City: The Public Authority for Manpower has received approvals to continue the Smart Recruitment of Skilled Labor project and to carry it out in conjunction with other pertinent government agencies. According to responsible sources within the authority, the theoretical exams for the professions for which expatriate workers are recruited will be held in the labour exporting nations in collaboration with the Kuwaiti embassies in these respective nations. 


PAM emphasises that the worker must take the practical test after arriving in Kuwait in order to be eligible for a work permit. According to the sources, the labour market has identified more than 20 professions that are in high demand; however, additional professions will be added gradually. According to the sources, the project's objective is to guarantee the hiring of skilled labour that advances the labour market and to prevent, to the greatest extent possible, the entry of untrained marginal workers who have actively contributed to the imbalance that has affected the population structure in the nation. 

The sponsor will be required to cover the return fare to the point of departure if the worker fails the practical tests. The sources continued by stating that the project's main goals are the academic accreditation of professional tests, the establishment of an automated testing system, the modernization of professions and professional and standard descriptions in accordance with the demands of the labour market, and the adoption of laws and decisions that go into effect immediately.
