90,910 EXPATS WORK IN GOVERNMENT SECTOR IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: According to statistics, there were approximately 457,140 citizens and residents working in the government sector as of the end of last June, including approximately 90,910 expatriates who make up about 19.8% of the sector's overall workforce and increase the proportion of citizens to more than 80%.


According to official data released by the Central Administration of Statistics, in the first half of 2022, 1,454 male and female citizens lost their jobs in the public sector, as opposed to 9,786 others who were employed in state ministries, departments, and affiliated independent bodies. 

A quick calculation shows that from January to the end of June, there were approximately 8,332 more male and female citizens working in the public sector across 17 ministries. According to the daily, 1408 male and female citizens joined 16 government departments, bringing the total up to about 25,700 male and female citizens as of last June.
