KUWAIT'S ROADS ARE THE WORST IN WORLD, WITH THE THIRD HIGHEST NUMBER OF FATALITIES

Kuwait City: According to Zutobi, an online driver education company, Kuwait has the worst road quality out of 59 countries, with a score of 1.33 out of 10. According to the company's classification report, the country's road quality score has dropped by more than 20% in five years, from 4.6 in 2014 to 3.7 in 2019.


In addition, Kuwait had the third highest rate of road fatalities — 19 per 100,000 people. Zutobi is a global driver education company with locations in the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Australia, France, and Germany. The company's driving courses comply with local traffic laws and regulations. 

Zutobi analyzed the quality of roads, deaths caused by road accidents, and the relative size of road network in 59 countries. Kuwait ranked fifth in the Gulf in terms of road quality in 2010 behind the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Oman, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, and then it declined year after year until it reached the 10th spot in 2019 among Arab countries, behind Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and Algeria, which ranked sixth to ninth respectively. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries took the first five spots; and at the forefront are UAE, Oman and Qatar that ranked seventh, behind Kuwait in 2010.
