Kuwait City: A working group established by the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) to oversee the implementation of the Kuwaitization programme in its project contracts has had its term extended for a further three months. If the team meets outside of regular business hours, it is led by the Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Development Affairs and has nine members. The team is in charge of monitoring the application of the rule on contracts covered by its Kuwaitization decision and creating a detailed plan for the program's implementation.

Through contracts, it is in charge of ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and processes of the Kuwaitization programme. The team prepares short- and long-term plans that show employment opportunities for Kuwaiti workers in the contractors' contracts and submits its proposals in this regard to the follow-up team of the programme Kuwaitization. The team also recommends to the concerned authority the imposition of the penalties stipulated in the contract concluded with the contractor in the event of his breach of his obligations stipulated in the contracts and related to Kuwaiti labour.

The team determines and prepares the executive procedures for implementing the regulations' provisions and submits them for approval by the competent authority. The team also interprets the regulations' provisions for the concerned authorities. A monthly periodic report on the team's work, detailing the monthly work plan, what has been accomplished, and the percentage of completion, must be submitted by the technical committee responsible for implementing the work teams and committees system. The report must be turned in during the final week of each month and by the end of the final working day.
