AMIR PATRONIZES IN THE QURAN CEREMONY

Kuwait City: Wednesday saw a ceremony honouring the recipients of Kuwait's 11th International Award for Memorization of the Holy Quran, which was sponsored by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. On behalf of His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince's Diwan Chief Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah attended the occasion. Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah was greeted by committee members and Fareed Emadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, upon his arrival at the venue. At the start of the ceremony, the national anthem of Kuwait was played, and a few verses from the Holy Quran were recited. 


The undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs then addressed the gathering, welcoming guests from various nations to engage in healthy competition on Kuwaiti soil. He praised the award as a historical milestone, a scientific triumph, and unmistakable evidence of the importance the Kuwaiti leadership accords to the Holy Quran and its students. 

He bragged that the 11-year victory demonstrated the Muslim nation's commitment to the holy book as the means of redemption and development, stressing that the Quran would continue to be a guide for success, values, reform, and law. The head of the award committee urged Quran students to adhere to the fundamental elements of Islamic identity as well as honour the book's ultimate goals and values in addition to memorization.
