Kuwait City: The new Kuwaiti Cabinet was announced by an Amiri order on Sunday; it consisted of 11 new faces, including two female MPs and three ministers from the outgoing Cabinet.

New ministers for oil, business and industry, foreign policy, defence, electricity, and public works have been appointed by the new administration.

Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Sabah, the former foreign minister, was replaced after declining the position in response to MPs' concerns.

Mohammad Al-Fares, a former minister of oil, and Rana Al-Fares, a minister of state for local government and communications, experienced the same thing.

Interior Minister Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, Minister of Information Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, and Minister of Finance Abdulwahab Al-Rushaid are the three retained ministers.

The constitution of Kuwait stipulates that after general elections, the current government must step down and be replaced.

On October 6, a Cabinet lineup was unveiled, but it was swiftly retracted in the face of vehement opposition from MPs and after the lone MP in the Cabinet declined to serve because the Cabinet included members who did not uphold the constitution.

After that, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf Al-Sabah, the prime minister, held lengthy meetings with nearly all of the lawmakers before announcing the new lineup on Sunday.

In terms of female ministers, Mai Al-Baghli was given the Ministry of Social Affairs and Women and Children Affairs, while Amani Buqammaz was named Minister of Electricity, Water, and Public Works.

Kuwait's longtime ambassador to the United States, Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, is now the country's new foreign minister.

While MP Ammar Al-Ajmi was named Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs and Minister of State for Housing, MP Bader Al-Mulla was named Oil Minister. The position of defence minister was given to Sheikh Ali Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, a new member of the ruling family.

To be prepared to attend the Assembly's inaugural session on Tuesday, the new Cabinet is anticipated to be sworn in on Monday.
