HEAVY RAINS IN KUWAIT ON NOVEMBER 11, A QUARTER-CENTURY AGO, LESS IMPACT THIS TIME

Kuwait City: The heavy rain that fell in the nation 25 years ago was reminiscent of the rain from yesterday. On Friday, 11 November 2022, it rained nationwide, just like it did on November 11, 1997. Last Saturday, prayers for rain were said in mosques throughout Kuwait. The following Friday it rained for a week. Rain had a minimal impact on residential areas and roads. Many areas were under waterlogged conditions. 


However, the November 11, 1997 rains had a significant impact. It arrived between the seasons of autumn and winter. Isa Ramadan,weather forecaster and environmental expert, explained that the reason for the rain the nation experienced at the time was due to the maximum surface temperature being in the twenties and the temperature in the upper layers of the atmosphere being very low.
