Kuwait to terminate 1800 expatriate teachers

Kuwait City, Jan 29: The Ministry of Education plans to inform 1,800 expat teachers about the termination of their employment on February 5, according to Al-Anba sources. According to sources, this will give the affected teachers enough time to prepare for the layoffs, which will take effect at the end of the current school year. 

The source added that the ministry is eager to implement the Kuwaiti policy in educational institutions, especially  in departments where there are enough teachers among Kuwaiti or non-Kuwaiti married Kuwaiti women. Two days ago, the ministry announced its plan to recruit Kuwaitis, citizens born to Kuwaiti women  married to non-Kuwaitis, Bedouins and  other GCC countries as part of the Kuwaiti policy.
