Kuwait is 1st in number of organ donors in Arab world

Kuwait City, Feb 3: The head of the Kuwaiti Society for Organ Transplantation, Dr. Mustafa Al-Musawi said that Kuwait is the first in the Arab world and the second in the Middle East in terms of the number of organ donors after death, compared to the population.

On the sidelines of a ceremony held by the association to honor the donors and launch the registration campaign in the postmortem organ donation card, Al-Moussawi, who is the head of the Organ Procurement Unit at the Ministry of Health, added that the country witnessed last year about 50 kidney transplants from 50 deceased and 49 similar operations from the living.
