Colonel in MOI sentenced to 8 years in prison for bribery

Kuwait City, March 10: A colonel in the Ministry of Interior was sentenced to 8 years in prison by the Criminal Court, with work and enforcement, in the case of issuing licenses to expatriates who do not meet the conditions, in exchange for sums of money. Eight expatriate defendants was also sentenced between 6 and 4 years with hard labor and ordered fines for the defendants amounting to about 20,000 dinars. They will be deported after serving the sentence.

The Public Prosecution had decided to detain the defendants in the case for a period of 21 days as a precaution, and to refer them to the central prison.
