Kuwait City: Over 1.15 million expat residents had their residence permits revoked within three years, including 67,000 people who left the country between January 2022 and April 2023, according to official government data. In the first quarter of 2023, 11,000 of them received "administrative deportation" decisions, and 56,279 expatriate residences were terminated in the previous year. According to sources, a number of factors, including the owners' wishes to leave and deportation decisions due to violations of work and residency laws, contributed to the revocation of these residencies.
