Health Ministry imposes new fees for expatriates

The Ministry of Health decided to impose new fees on some health services for expatriates, whether residents or visitors. The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, issued a decision stipulating that non-Kuwaiti patients residing and registered in the health insurance system shall collect the fees for laboratory tests that are carried out in the laboratories of the Blood Transfusion Services Department whose fees range between half a dinar and 15 dinars, while it exceeds the fees for visitors, where It starts from 5 dinars and goes up to 70 dinars.

The decision also set the fees for blood bag exchange services at 20 dinars per bag for the resident and 40 dinars for the visitor. The decision exempted the patient from blood bag fees in the event that there is a donor for each blood bag or its derivatives.
He stressed the continuation of the implementation of the decisions to exempt some groups from fees and cases that are treated as Kuwaitis.
