In advance of a powerful cyclone making landfall on Thursday, parts of north-west India and southern Pakistan are experiencing strong winds and torrential rain. So far, more than 170,000 people have been evacuated. Cyclone Biparjoy, which is Bengali for "disaster," has prompted forecasters to issue a warning that it may destroy nearby homes and crops. The process of making landfall is anticipated to begin after 18:00 local time (12.30 GMT).
