Typhoon Haikui injures forty four people in Taiwan

Nearly 44 people were reported injured and a significant number of homes were without power following the passage of the powerful typhoon Haikui across Taiwan, according to the authorities. 

The Central Weather Bureau of Taiwan reported that the storm made landfall at Donghe, a coastal township in the southeast of the island, at 3:40 pm local time. The storm then exited the island at eight o'clock in the evening. The Interior Ministry of Taiwan reported that nearly 7,113 people in eleven cities and counties were evacuated.
