Kuwait and Philippines set to recommence discussions regarding domestic workers

Abdulaziz Al-Ali, Director and Advisor to the Union of Owners of Domestic Workers Recruitment Offices, has revealed positive indications of an upcoming meeting between Kuwait and the Philippines. The purpose of this meeting is to rekindle bilateral dialogues and bridge the gap between the two countries, ensuring the resumption of the recruitment of new domestic workers from Manila. Al-Ali expressed his optimism, particularly with the involvement of Hans Leo Cacdac, the Secretary of the Philippines Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), which has instilled hope among stakeholders invested in the domestic workers sector. During an interview with Al-Jarida, Al-Ali emphasized the significant presence of Filipino domestic workers in Kuwait, highlighting that they make up approximately 50% of the domestic workforce.
