Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sharida Al-Maousherji affirmed that individuals accountable for the building collapse in Jabriya will face consequences. “We are currently awaiting the final report regarding the incident,” he informed reporters on Wednesday evening. He acknowledged the commendable efforts of various ministries and relevant agencies, which responded diligently to the situation despite challenging conditions and high temperatures. Al-Maousherji noted that a team was engaged in clearing the debris to ensure that no victims or injuries were overlooked.
According to a statement from the ministry’s security media and public relations department, the incident was attributed to negligence on the part of the contractor responsible for the demolition. The statement further indicated that the contractor absconded from the scene following the incident.
