Bahrain is emerging as a major global destination, following in the footsteps of Dubai. With the rise of low-cost airlines and unified visa systems, the Middle East has become a key hub for international tourism and investment. To further this growth, Bahrain has introduced the Golden Residency Visa, allowing foreign citizens to live and work in the country with exclusive benefits.

The Golden Visa is open to entrepreneurs, property owners, skilled workers, retirees, and long-term residents. Eligibility criteria include:

  • Retirees with a minimum monthly income of 4,000 Bahraini dinars.

  • Investors with a minimum investment of 200,000 dinars in real estate.

  • Professionals nominated by government agencies or long-term residents earning at least 2,000 dinars per month.

  • Valid health insurance and proof of income, property, or achievements.

Golden Visa holders can also apply for a work permit issued by the Ministry of Passports and Residence. The permit is valid for one year, costs 172 dinars plus additional fees, and is processed within 10 working days.

The application process requires submitting documents such as a valid passport, health insurance, proof of income, and relevant certificates. The visa application fee is four Bahraini dinars, with an additional 300 dinars for residency issuance.

Bahrain’s new visa initiative aims to attract global talent and investment, strengthening its position as a leading destination in the Middle East.
