Kuwait’s Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning as the country braces for an intense heat wave over the weekend, with temperatures expected to reach a blistering 50°C. The Director General of the Meteorological Department, Dharar Al-Ali, informed KUNA that the current weather conditions are influenced by the Indian monsoon depression, which brings with it hot, dry air and northwesterly winds.

Thursday:
The day will be extremely hot, with temperatures ranging from 47°C to 49°C. Moderate to active northwesterly winds at speeds between 20 to 50 km/h may cause dust storms in some areas. Sea conditions are forecast to be moderate to rough, with wave heights of 3 to 6 feet. At night, the heat will persist with temperatures between 27°C and 29°C and calmer winds ranging from 12 to 35 km/h.

Friday:
Expect even hotter conditions, with daytime highs between 48°C and 50°C. Winds will vary from northwesterly to variable at 8 to 35 km/h. The sea will remain calm to moderate with waves of 1 to 4 feet. Nighttime temperatures will hover between 27°C and 29°C, with light to moderate winds.

Saturday:
Very hot conditions will continue, with maximum temperatures between 47°C and 49°C. Winds will blow from the northwest at speeds of 8 to 35 km/h. Sea waves are expected to be light to moderate, ranging from 1 to 5 feet. Saturday night will stay hot, with temperatures falling slightly to 26°C–28°C and winds picking up to 12 to 38 km/h.

The Meteorological Department urges residents to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, remain hydrated, and take appropriate precautions to stay safe during the extreme weather conditions.
