SUPREME COURT ORDERS IMMEDIATE REBUILDING OF VANDALISED HINDU TEMPLE IN PAKISTAN

In the aftermath of massive international condemnation, the Pakistan Supreme Court on  ordered the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government to immediately start rebuilding a century-old Hindu temple that was vandalised by a mob  The court also ordered the provincial authorities to propose a timeline for the completion.The temple, that's located in Terri village in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Karak district, was vandalised by members of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party (Fazal ur Rehman group), last year.

 A three-judge apex court bench, headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed, heard the s case regarding the burning of the temple.Justice Ijazul Ahsan said that the court had ordered to recover the money from those who burnt the temple so that they could learn a lesson."Evacuee Trust Property Board chairman should be summoned and a detailed report containing all the progress made so far be submitted in court," Justice Gulzar said.The Evacuee Trust Property Board is a statutory board that manages religious properties and shrines of Hindus and Sikhs who had migrated to India following the partition.Hindus form the biggest minority community in Pakistan.
