Kuwait City: The official spokesman of the government, Tareq Al Mezram, announced that Kuwait will be lifting the two-month-long partial curfew starting at 1:00 AM on the first day of Eid.

Cinemas and theaters will be open only to those who are vaccinated, and restaurants and cafes to provide service but not allowing dining in from the first day of Eid Al-Fitr. They are required to commit to the health regulations of the Ministry of Health (MoH) in this regard. This decision will be reviewed after a periodic evaluation of the health situation in the country.

All commercial activities will have to close 8:00pm to 5:00am daily, except supermarkets, pharmacies and delivery services for restaurants and cafes.

Once the public holiday is over, a cap of 60 per cent has been set for private and public sector employees working in the office.

Al Mezram stated that passengers arriving from Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka are barred from entering Kuwait until further notice. Passengers are only allowed in if they quarantine in another country for at least 14 days.

The cabinet thanked the citizens and residents of the country for their adherence to the measures of the partial lockdown and urged them to continue adhering to the health guidelines, abstaining from mingling and holding gatherings and acting as a single team to pursue the fight against the pandemic and pave way for the restoration of normal life.
