DOMESTIC WORKERS DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THE COUNTRY, CRITICISM AGAINST GOVERNMENT

Kuwait City: Critics say the situation is similar to the expulsion of domestic workers from the country's labor market due to the negligence shown by government agencies involved in providing protection. The criticism was made by Basam al-Shammari, chairman of a volunteer committee that studied domestic workers.

Domestic workers still do not feel safe in the country. And disputes with employers are not properly resolved. The situation where workers approach the embassy of their country shows the inability of the government to find an appropriate solution.

The employer is not even willing to book tickets for workers who want to return to their home countries after the contract expires. Al-Shammari said that all this would increase the reluctance of domestic workers to come to Kuwait. He said the current shortage of domestic workers in the country was at an all-time high.
