ABU DHABI MUNCIPALITY IMPOSED FINE OF 3000 DIRHAMS ON CARS PARKED IN PUBLIC PLACES WITHOUT BEING CLEANED

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Municipality has imposed a fine of 3,000 dirhams on cars parked in public places for long periods of time without being cleaned. Authorities have warned that if the vehicles are not removed after the deadline, they will be removed by the municipality.

After inspecting such vehicles, a three-day notice will be issued and a sticker will be affixed on the vehicles. If the vehicle is not removed during this period, the municipality will remove the vehicle itself. A fine of dirhams 3,000 will be levied, but if the vehicle is impounded within 30 days of seizure and the vehicle is replaced, a fine of dirhams 1,500 will suffice.

Officials said the new campaign aims to encourage the public to keep their vehicles clean and to raise awareness about the dangers of dirty abandoned cars. Hundreds of these types of vehicles were parked in Abu Dhabi's Musaffah Industrial Area, Mafraq, Baniyas and Al Watba.
