INDIAN SOCIAL CLUB IN MUSCAT DONATES RS 1.64 CRORE TO CM'S DISASTER RELEIF FUND

Muscat : The 'Muscat Indian Social Club' in Oman has donated Rs 1.64 crore to the Kerala Chief Minister's Disaster Relief Fund, club officials said. The Ministry of Social Welfare of Oman had given permission to the Muscat Indian Social Club to raise funds in Oman for the victims of the 2018 floods in Kerala. 'Indian Social Club in Muscat' donates Rs 1.64 crore to CM's Disaster Relief Fund.


1,64,24,832 collected through this was handed over to the State Government. The Indian Social Club in Muscat received an official notification yesterday that the amount had been received. In 2018, the Ministry of Social Welfare gave the Indian Social Club in Muscat a three-month period to publicly organize fundraising activities.

The Social Club aimed at implementing assistance schemes worth `5 crore in Kerala. Apart from the Muscat Indian Social Club, various socio-cultural organizations in Oman have also come to the aid of Kerala during the 2018 floods.
