According to the recently released Gallup Global Safety Report for 2025, Gulf nations have demonstrated exceptional performance in global safety rankings. The report, which surveyed over 144,000 people across 144 countries on their sense of security when walking alone at night, placed Oman in fourth place globally.
Singapore leads the list, followed by Tajikistan and China. Oman secured the fourth position, with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE also featuring in the top ten, taking fifth, seventh, ninth, and tenth places respectively.
The report highlighted that a record 73% of the world's population now feels safe in their local areas after dark, marking a significant increase from 63% in 2006. It also noted that Asian and Middle Eastern countries consistently report higher safety ratings than other regions. In contrast, only 58% of women in the United States feel safe walking alone at night.
