SAUDI ARABIA LIFTS TRAVEL BAN

Jeddah: Saudi Arabia has partially lifted a ban on direct travel to Saudi Arabia from 13 countries. The ban was lifted on Tuesday in three of the 13 countries. The ban was lifted for travelers from the UAE, Argentina and South Africa.

Travelers from these three countries can meet in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, September 8 from 11am. The Saudi Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday evening that airports, ports and check posts would be opened for passengers from these areas.

The direct ban on entry to the Corona virus from thirteen countries, including India, was imposed last February amid mounting international and local outbreaks.

The new decision is based on the latest report by the Saudi Ministry of Health that corona spread is under control in all three countries. Saudi nationals have been allowed to travel to all three countries.

At the same time, the ministry urged that the Covid protocol be strictly adhered to. The Home Ministry said in a statement that the relevant departments were constantly reviewing the global status of Covid and that appropriate decisions would be taken.

At the time of the ban, locals were allowed to enter Saudi Arabia after a fourteen-day quarantine in a third country where the corona threat was not large. Indians are hoping that a similar decision will be made soon for those from India.
