Kuwait City: Fahad al-Arbash, head of the Restaurant Federation, said the hotel restaurant sector was facing a crisis due to labor shortages. In many service sectors, restaurant owners are unable to operate due to the cessation of new recruitment of foreign workers and the shortage of experienced workers such as cooks. Al-Arbash added that bakers and confectioners are "facing a severe shortage of local workers' pay rises and that it is not easy to train them in the sector without adequate training."At the same time, 8,641 foreign workers were reported to have left the country in the one-year period from March 2020.
