Sharjah: Sharjah police have warned people to beware of attempts to defraud the public of money and other valuables. According to the police, the swindlers even try to extort money by sneezing and spitting on their bodies or clothes. Sharjah Police has launched a new campaign of vigilance against various forms of fraud.

The awareness campaign, which started on October 24, will last for a month. A stranger will suddenly come closer and sneeze or spit on your body or clothing. This is often the case. Police say that when your attention is diverted at this time, the purse or money will be taken by others in the group.

Another scheme for fraud is as car sellers. They will tell you that you can give the car at a lower price than the market price and buy the money. The practice of these people is to sink without delivering the vehicle as soon as all the transactions are completed and the money is received. Sharjah Police is raising awareness among the public about the possible ways in which such scams can be used.

In the first half of this year, several theft and pocketing cases were registered in the emirate. The police had taken action and arrested several swindlers after conducting an extensive investigation. The police also requested the public to be vigilant against such scams as part of ensuring security.
