UNVACCINATED PEOPLE WILL BE BARRED FROM ENTERING PUBLIC PLACES IN KENYA

Kenyans who are not fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will be barred from entering bars, restaurants, and public transportation beginning December 21, according to Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe.

The measures are intended to boost vaccination rates ahead of the holiday season.

Currently, less than 10% of the population is immunised. Mr Kagwe expressed concern about the slow uptake, announcing that a 10-day vaccination campaign would begin on November 26.

Despite fears that some African countries are running out of vaccines, the Kenyan government is confident that it will have enough for its immunisation campaign.

Out of the 10.7 million jabs received, it has only administered 6.4 million.
