Kuwait City: Vaccines against the coronavirus for children aged five to eleven are likely to arrive in Kuwait in the coming weeks, according to a Ministry of Health official on Monday. The MoH Undersecretary, Dr. Mustafa Redha, stated that the department had negotiated arrangements with vaccination-producing businesses to get the doses for children aged five to eleven years. He was speaking to the media after the weekly Cabinet meeting at Seif Palace. These vaccines, which have been approved by international medical bodies, are due in Kuwait in the next weeks, he said.

Kuwait Government Spokesman Tareq Al-Mizrem stated on Monday that health officials are keeping a careful eye on cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) infection at schools across the country. "The health situation is generally satisfactory," he said after the weekly cabinet meeting, which was presided over by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. He noted that the ministries of Health, Education, and Higher Education, as well as the Secretariat of the University Council, Kuwait University, and the Public Authority of Applied Education and Training, are constantly coordinating on the next steps needed in the next stage. Al-Mizrem recalled that the Covid-19 Ministerial Emergency Committee met last Thursday in the presence of Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ali Al-Modhaf to discuss strategies for maintaining the health of educational institutions.
