Kuwait City: Incoming vaccinated travellers will be released from house quarantine for the coronavirus beginning Tuesday if they get a negative PCR test upon arrival in Kuwait, said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense on Monday. Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al- Ali Al-Sabah, the leader of the ministerial emergency coronavirus committee, said in a post aired by the Government Communication Center on Twitter that the Cabinet resolved during Monday's session to impose a seven-day house quarantine for immunised incoming visitors.

The minister has emphasised, however, that the cabinet determined that the quarantine can be lifted much sooner if a PCR test is performed immediately after arrival to prove that the concerned traveller is not infected, and this is effective as of Tuesday (January 18).

Meanwhile, Kuwait's Ministry of Justice (MoJ) said on Monday that Minister of Justice and Minister for Integrity Promotion Affairs Advisor Jamal Al-Jallawi tested positive for COVID-19 and is presently being held in isolation. The minister's infection was verified following a regular sample this morning, according to the MoJ's official Twitter account. He is currently in home isolation, following health-care measures in the event of infection, and performing his tasks remotely.
