Kuwait City: Dr. Khaled Al-Saeed, Minister of Health, has issued three ministerial decisions to govern the registration and distribution of medical devices, supplies, and health items, as well as to expedite medicine prescription work in the public and private sectors. Dr. Abdullah Al-Badr, Assistant Undersecretary for Drug and Food Control Affairs, stated that the new ministerial decision is in line with international regulations and standards, including biomedical devices, and that it is a qualitative step forward in the regulation and control of medical devices in Kuwait. According to him, the decision divides medical devices into four groups based on their usage and influence on their users, so that regulatory conditions, studies, and registration requirements are proportionate to the category to which the medical device is assigned.
