Kuwait City: In view of the escalating number of Covid-19 instances, Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Muhammad Al- Rajhi announced that the government will not attend the special session scheduled for Monday to debate health rules. Al-Rajhi indicated in a press statement that the administration has apologised for its inability to attend the session.

He stated that the Ministry of Health is coping with an increase in the number of coronacases, especially since a number of Covid-19 patients are being treated in intensive care units (ICU). He went on to say that the administration had asked Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al- Ghanim to work with the MPs who had requested the special session to postpone it.

Because the government's request was denied, Al-Rajhi told the Assembly that it would not attend the session. He confirmed that the administration, notably the Ministry of Health, has been accommodating, as it is always ready to react to MPs' questions while taking their opinions and recommendations into account.

Meanwhile, MP Mubarak Al-Arow stated that the growing number of corona cases necessitates the Ministry of Education submitting a suggestion to hold online lectures in the second semester of the academic year 2021/2022. He stated that if face-to-face classes are continued in the second semester, it will be hard to fully execute health rules.
