14 KUWAITI WOMEN MAKE HISTORY BY CONQUERING JEBEL SHAMS IN OMAN

Kuwait City: Fourteen Kuwaiti women have made history by conquering Jebel Shams in Oman, the highest peak in the Arabian Gulf region. The Kuwaiti women wrote the heroic tale by conquering the 3030 meter high peak. A total of 15 people were in the group to conquer the peak. Of these, 14 were Kuwaitis. Only one was from Bahrain.


Janan al-Quina, a member of the group, said the women on the trip were between 20 and 45 years old. The group reached Jebel Shams peak in seven hours, starting at 6 p.m. Success was achieved directly through difficult slopes and great hardships. She said the achievement shows that Kuwaiti women have the strength to face any crisis or challenge.
