454 EXPATS TERMINATED FROM MINISTRY OF ELECTRICITY IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: Dr Muhammad Al-Faris, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, confirmed the termination of 454 expatriate employees in the Ministry of Electricity and their replacement with citizens, in accordance with government decisions aimed at implementing the replacement policy, including the rules and procedures for the 'Kuwaitization' of jobs. 


The ministry rigorously follows the Civil Service Commission's (CSC) circulars on the application of the replacement policy in the short and long term, which it gets every year. He explained that this means firing expatriate personnel and replacing them with nationals. He revealed that 454 expatriate workers have been laid off after the decision was issued in 2017.
