Kuwait City: The declaration of a nine-day holiday on the occasion of the National and Liberation Days increased demand for travel among citizens and expatriates, who began planning vacations to places like Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Sharm El-Sheikh, Dubai, London, the Maldives, Luxor, and Aswan. According to sources, the number of reservations skyrocketed once the nine-day break was announced. They anticipate that trips will be completely booked, with reservations returning to pre-corona levels.

They called it a "post-Corona awakening," and said that trip packages for nearby destinations start at KD100 dinars, which includes three days of Umrah. The announcement of the nine-day holiday coincided with the reduction of preventive health measures upon return to Kuwait, according to sources. One of the things that motivated people to travel was the termination of quarantine once the negative PCR test result was released. Hussein Al-Sulaiten, board member and chairman of the Kuwait Travel and Tourism Agencies Association's (KTTAA) Media Committee, said the nine-day holiday announcement motivated people and expats to make travel plans for a quick vacation to break up their routine.

He stated that this had a beneficial impact on the tourism industry, which had seen an uptick in demand as soon as the holiday was announced. He claimed that London is the most popular destination among citizens, followed by Turkey, specifically Istanbul, Bursa, and Trabzon. He also mentioned adjacent destinations like Saudi Arabia, where he can perform Umrah or take part in festivals and festivities, Dubai, which has good tourist attractions and shopping, and Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, which has the best recreational facilities.
