KUWAIT HAS THE LARGEST NUMBER OF EXPATRIATES IN GOVERNMENT SECTOR

Kuwait City: It is estimated that 80% of the total government employees in the country are Kuwaitis. After Kuwaitis, Arab expatriates outside the Gulf countries are the largest employers in the government sector. The number of expatriates working in the government sector excluding Gulf countries is 45,809. This is 10.4 per cent of the total workforce. 


The second is from non-Arab Asian countries. Of these, 34,181 are in the government sector, or 7.8 per cent. There are 4,837 GCC nationals working in the government sector in Kuwait. About 1.1 percent of the total workforce is from GCC countries. 

The number of public sector employees in non-Arab African countries is 249, with 502 men and women from European countries, 425 men and women from North American countries, 38 men and women from South America, and 39 men and women from Australia and New Zealand.
