Kuwait City: The Council of Ministers authorised the removal of the necessity for non-vaccinated teachers and students under the age of 16 to have a PCR negative certificate.

The Ministry of Education is attempting to expedite the completion of school equipment as part of plans to eliminate the two-tier structure and return schools to pre-pandemic conditions. According to senior education sources, the ministry faces a number of challenges in this regard, the most significant of which is a shortage of cleaning workers, which is exacerbated by the fact that there are approximately 900 school buildings housing Kindergarten, primary, intermediate, and secondary students. According to the sources, the Education Ministry is still facing a significant labour crisis because it has not yet been able to hire all of those who applied for the position of cleaner on a direct contracting basis, with just around 400 people hired so far.
