KUWAIT REMAINS ONE OF THE TOP NATIONS IN TERMS OF WATER SUPPLIES ANS SUSTAINABILITY

Kuwait City: Dr. Ali Al-Mudhaf, Minister of Education, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, stated that Kuwait was and continues to be a leader in the field of water provision and sustainability, having established a desalination plant using multi-stage flash evaporation technology. 


This was stated in a speech delivered on Al-behalf Mudhaf's by Dr. Mana' Al-Sedrawi, Acting Director-General of the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, at the opening ceremony of the conference "Wastewater Management in Arid and Semi-Arid Regions to Take Mitigation Measures to Combat Climate Change," which will be held at the institute until March 17. In light of the many challenges represented by scarcity of water resources, harsh climatic conditions, and the effects of global warming and climate change, which are expected to increase their complexities in the arid and semiarid regions of the world, Al-Mudhaf emphasised the importance of water and the role that Kuwait plays in sustaining the prosperity it enjoys.
