62 KIDNEY TRANSPLANTS WERE CONDUCTED IN 2020, WITH A SUCCESS RATE OF MORE THAN 95%

Kuwait City: Dr. Khaled Al- Saeed, Minister of Health, stated on Wednesday that Kuwait has achieved remarkable success rates in the field of kidney transplantation, reaching 95 percent, citing preventive and curative services offered in accordance with international standards for over 2,300 dialysis cases. During the opening of the activities of the 15th Arab Society for Kidney Treatment and Transplantation, which will last four days, Al-Saeed noted that the country saw 62 kidney transplant operations performed in 2020, noting that the advanced services provided in this important specialty within the health system embody the extent of commitment to health-related priorities and goals within the national goals for sustainable development. 


He emphasised the Ministry of Health's commitment to achieving the highest levels of quality in the field of health care, as it is the main driver of comprehensive development, which it aspires to in order to achieve its comprehensive goals and objectives and to track progress on its ambitious programmes using appropriate scientific indicators. In response to a press query concerning the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccines after the conference began, the Minister of Health stated, "We have not thought about this problem yet," urging individuals and residents to receive the (third) booster dose to strengthen community protection.
