NEW NATIONS ARE BEING CONSIDERED FOR THE RECRUITMENT POF DOMESTIC HELPERS

Kuwait City: Khaled Al-Dakhnan, Chairman of the Kuwait Union of Domestic Labor Offices (KUDLO), said that the union's requests include opening new nations for the recruitment of domestic workers and abolishing visa restrictions on countries such as Uganda, Kenya, and Ethiopia. In a press statement, Al-Dakhnan revealed that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ethiopia has been stopped for over two years without explanation. He stated that this MoU would have resolved the recruiting crisis, including the high cost of hiring domestic staff.

He went on to say that the new deal with the Republic of Sierra Leone had not been disclosed to the union, implying that "we have not seen such arrangement." He claimed that easing the visa ban on some nations could be an encouraging sign of the need to reconsider certain issues and the prospect of reaching an agreement to solve the domestic employment crisis. He confirmed that the aforementioned methods will result in lower recruitment expenses, particularly if the number of workers increases and the needs of the local labour market are met.
