21 ACCOUNTS ON SOCAIL MEDIA AND PHONE NUMBERS WILL BE DEACTIVATED IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: More than 21 social media accounts, as well as a phone number used for illicit fundraising activities, have been suspended by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Societal Development, according to the Communications Commission.


According to sources, the commission has the authority to block websites, social media accounts, and phone lines if it can be demonstrated that the administrators have broken the ministry's rules. Previously, persons who committed such crimes were required to sign a pledge not to repeat the offences; however, they are now referred straight to the Public Prosecution.
