NIGERIAN AIRLINES ARE CANCELLING DOMESTIC FLIGHTS DUE TO RISING JET FUEL PRICES

Domestic flights in Nigeria will be suspended beginning Monday in protest of the rising cost of jet fuel.

It has nearly quadrupled this year, which is unsustainable, according to the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON).

"No airline in the world can sustain this kind of unexpected shock from such an astronomical growth in such a short period," the company stated in a statement.

The price increases were prompted mostly by Russia's invasion of Ukraine at the end of February.
