ISOLATION AND QUARANTINE PROCEDURES FOR MONKEYPOX ESTABLISHED IN UAE

Abu Dhabi: The UAE has put in place a robust system to quickly detect all infectious diseases and viruses, including monkeypox, officials said. The announcement comes after the Ministry of Health and Immunization confirmed the deaths of three more people yesterday. The first case of monkeypox was reported on the 24th of this month in a 29 - year - old visitor from West Africa.  


The Ministry explained the isolation and quarantine procedures for infected persons and those who have been in close contact with them. The authority said the patient would have to stay in hospitals alone until the disease was cured. Those in close contact with them should stay at home quarantine for at least 21 days. 

The ministry said close contact would ensure home isolation was observed and their health would be monitored.
