KUWAIT IMPORTED 691 MILLION DINARS WORTH OF GOLD AND DIAMONDS LAST YEAR

Kuwait City: Last year, Kuwait imported jewelery, precious stones, and metals valued 691 million dinars. Such imports have climbed by 135 percent year on year, from 294 million dinars in 2020.


In the first three months of 2021, imports of real or cultured pearls, precious stones, precious metals, and imitations of precious metals hit a new high of 218 million dinars. In the second quarter, it was 115.7 million dinars, and in the third quarter, it was 159 million dinars. The value of such commodities was estimated at 158 million dinars in the last three months of 2021.
