KUWAIT PREPARES TO BAN ENTRY TO 10 COUNTRIES

Kuwait City: The Interior Ministry is currently studying a proposal to ban the issuance of all types of visas to more than 10 nationalities from Africa, including Madagascar, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Benin, Mali and Congo, a local newspaper reported. Security sources said that the reason for the move was the absence of embassies of these countries in Kuwait.

Deportation of expatriates from these countries to Kuwait for illegal activities is a complex and time consuming process. Sources pointed out that some of them are deliberately hiding or destroying their passports, which confuses security services due to the lack of embassies.

Sources said that the Home Ministry has approached the embassies of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to obtain travel documents for people who have been in prison for a long time and are from those countries. The lack of direct flights or even transit to these countries to deport citizens complicates the process.
