THE STOCK EXCHANGE REGAINS ITS BALANCE AND EARNS HALF A BILLION DINARS

Kuwait City: The Kuwait Stock Exchange regained its balance with the return to the tone of the rises again after remarkable declines during the last sessions. .


These gains came through buying momentum on leading, medium and small stocks in various sectors, especially financial and industrial services and banks. Dealers, whether institutions or individuals, said the opportunity had become favorable, which encouraged buying.

And the buying trend yesterday in the Kuwaiti stock market reinforced the improvement in the performance of the global financial markets, which recovered relatively after the large declines that they witnessed recently due to fears of slowing the growth of the economy due to the exacerbation of inflation rates.

Despite the return of positive activity to the market yesterday, liquidity decreased by 29%, with a total of 52.7 million dinars, down from 74.1 million dinars the day before yesterday. 3.3 million dinars, and notables 2.8 million dinars.

Trading volumes decreased by 26%, with 191.2 million shares traded, down from 258.8 million shares the day before yesterday.

With the improved performance of the market, the prices of 79 shares rose compared to a decrease of 40 shares, and the prices of 13 shares were stable, while the shares of 27 listed companies were not traded.

On the level of sectors' performance, the weighted indices of 9 sectors, led by financial services, increased by 2.05%, followed by industrial by 1.2%, while the indices of 3 sectors led by health care declined by 3.4%.

The market indices rose yesterday by 1.2% for the Premier Market Index, achieving 100.7 points, to reach 8029 points. The main market index also rose by 0.5%, adding 28.7 points, to reach 5622 points, and the general market index increased by 1.1%, adding 79.1 points, to reach 7,241 points.

It is expected that the stock exchange’s performance will fluctuate during the upcoming sessions according to the developments of the external factors that cast a shadow on the performance of the financial markets in the region as a whole, not only the Kuwait financial market, and the most prominent of these factors is the state of the global financial markets, as well as the oil prices in the global market.
