BRITAIN CANCELS TRAVEL VISAS FOR CITIZENS OF THE GULF COOPERATION COUNCIL COUNTRIES

The United Kingdom announced today that it will abolish visa requirements for all citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council, to be replaced by new procedures to facilitate the travel process during 2023.

His Excellency Mansour Abdullah Khalfan Belhoul, UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom, confirmed that the United Arab Emirates will be one of the first countries to be subject to the ETA program, and Emirati visa citizens will not need a to visit the United Kingdom as of 2023.

The United Kingdom will cancel visa requirements for all citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries wishing to travel to Britain during 2023, and this procedure will be implemented during the same year.

The visa will be replaced with a travel permit, so that the traveler wishing to travel to Britain will fill in his data through an application, and the request will be answered within minutes.

The newspaper noted that the permit will be valid for an extended period and for multiple travel as well for short-term visits, which are less than 180 days for tourism and some commercial activities.
