KUWAIT WELCOMES THE REMOVAL OF VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR THE UNITED KINGDOM

Kuwait City: Kuwait's embassy in the United Kingdom hailed a new travel system on Monday that would exclude Kuwaitis and other Gulf Arab nationals from visa requirements, saying the measure would save time and effort. Kuwaitis will just need to obtain an electronic travel permission in advance before visiting Britain under the new guidelines, a step that reflects "long-standing and durable" bilateral relations, according to an embassy statement.

It said the new programme, which goes into force next year, was the result of arduous work by the Kuwaiti foreign ministry to streamline travel to a country long regarded a hotspot for citizens. According to the statement, Kuwait's embassy will continue to engage with relevant agencies in the UK to complete the remaining aspects of the revised travel plan. Gulf Arab people will no longer need a visa to visit Britain beginning next year, making travel easier for one of the country's most frequent visitors, Home Secretary Priti Patel announced on Monday.
