IT IS ESTIMATED THAT 22,000 NEW WORKERS ENTERED THE KUWAITI LABOR MARKET IN THREE MONTHS

Kuwait City: The total number of workers entering the country has increased in the first three months of this year. The figures were released by the Central Administration of Statistics and the Manpower Authority. The total number of workers who arrived in the country in the first three months of this year was about 22,000. Of these, 88.9 per cent are domestic workers.


A total of 19,532 domestic workers arrived in the country during the period. Most of the domestic workers are from India, the Philippines, Bum Gladesh, Sri Lanka, Benin and Sudan. Of these, 11,591 were from India. 5631 people came from the second place Philippines. Fewer than 100 workers have come to Kuwait from other countries. Inflows of domestic workers from Nepal, Ethiopia, Indonesia and Pakistan have been steadily declining.
